Muffins with Mom or is it Mom’s Muffin Top. . .
So, this morning was my middle son’s aptly titled “Muffins with Mom” Mother’s Day celebration in his classroom. Cameron had told me I could wear something really pretty if I wanted! What? I have to dress up? Not one to disappoint, I eventually decided on my denim trousers and a flouncy blouse that I hoped would hide the muffin top! Note to self: diet starts today after my muffins — way too many of my dresses I tried on this morning made me look like a stuffed sausage!
Anyway, I had to hoof it over to my Mum’s to drop off the little munchkin as Cameron had specifically requested that he did not want his baby brother there. Hmmmm, can’t imagine why not!! Seeing as my mother lives on the other side of town, I was lucky to arrive back to the school with a few minutes to spare!
It was very cute — Cameron loaded me up with cards, posters and the cutest flower pot and pen he had made as well as blueberry muffins and orange juice. We sat, trying to daintily eat our muffins and chatted with a couple of the other moms. It was nice to see him settling so well in to his new classroom and to meet some of his new friends. I tried not to embarrass him with too many hugs and kisses, but he is my Cammie Bear, after all!
I headed over to Mum’s to pick up Logan and it was only when I was half way there that I realised I was still playing his Laurie Berkner CD! OMG! Had I been singing along to it oblivious to the fact that I had no children in the van? Could anyone on the outside hear? To up my cool mommy street cred, I quickly changed the channel to a hip happening radio station which was belting out JT’s “Sexy Back!” All right, now we’re talking!

I hate it when I do that. I’m glad you enjoyed your muffins. I, too, need to really consider a diet.
