Busy weekend . . .

Another day, another dollar!

That is how I feel about working already!

But, I did get to leave work early on Saturday so I could make it to my oldest son’s piano recital.  Hubby did well to get all three boys ready, looking smart and there on time as I met him at the local church where the recital was being held.  We sat towards the back as you do when you have a little one like our Logan — easy exit just in case he started fussing!  So, he did pretty well through the first and second performances, sitting on my lap with the cutest smile on his face, eyes all wide, bright and twinkling, but then it all went downhill!  He wanted to run up and down the pews and play with the books aka the Bibles!  DH made that quick exit with him and Cameron and I stayed.

Taylor has been playing the piano since he was 5 years old and is amazing!  Well, I think so anyway!  He did so well — I knew he would!  But, I just couldn’t get over how grown up he looked up there on the stage — I can’t believe he is going to be 12 in a couple of days.  Anyway, he did one solo performance and then a duet with another student of the piano academy.   These recitals last a couple of hours usually, yet your own child only plays for maybe 5-10 minutes at most so I kept finding my mind wandering . . . and don’t get me started on DS#2 sitting next to me shuffling and fidgeting in his seat!  But, it’s well worth sitting through those torturous other performances for your own child’s!!!

We had a pool party a la Southern style to go to at my friend Vicki’s house immediately after the recital so we didn’t really stay much for the post recital social hour.  We really needed to get back to the house to get changed as we couldn’t really turn up for a pool party in our posh gear or “handsome clothes” as the boys sarcastically call them!

We had a great time — Vicki had made the most delicious punch with Southern Comfort!  Let me just say I was feeling no pain by the end of the night!

The buffet was yummy too — fried chicken and mash taters and gravy, salad with a garlic buttermilk dressing, corn bread, black eyed peas!  I’m getting hungry again just thinking about it!

Sunday was a very busy day at work, so it was nice to come home and unwind (well, as much as you can with three rambunctious, wet, splashing children) with the boys in the pool while hubby made dinner.

Another day, another dollar — means back at work tomorrow!!!
