I think I’m going to lose my arm . . .

My middle son sometimes comes out with the most bizarre statements that leave me wondering whether to burst out laughing or gather him up into my arms and hold him so very tightly in a mommy bear hug.

DH and I have been telling him to lay off the mouse with his sprained hand during his computer time.  So, when I was putting him to bed the other night, he was strangely non-conversational which is not like Cameron.  He usually has some fact or other that he likes to wow me with.  That night, he was so quiet and when I asked him what was wrong he burst in to tears and when I asked him why my lovey little lamp chop was crying, he told me in confidence, I might add, that he might lose his whole arm.

Well, I managed to stifle a giggle and asked him why he thought that.  He replied that he had just tried and tried, but he couldn’t stop himself from using the mouse with his bad hand and thought he had done serious damage.

Oh my!

I made sure to sincerely tell him with unequivocal doubt that in no uncertain terms would he lose his arm and then I both laughed with him and enveloped him in to the biggest mommy cuddle I could!

8 year olds, huh?

Takes me back to the time when he was 3 and told me he thought his eyelids were broken because he just couldn’t fall asleep no matter how hard he tried.

Okay, on with the day — I need to get ready for a combo 12 year old swim birthday party with 10 or more tweens screaming the clubhouse/pool down!  What am I thinking?  On Friday the 13th no less?

That comment about the eyelids was the best thing ever! 3 year olds say the funniest things.

    Good luck with the party!

Poor thing…as adults I don’t think we realize the stuff that makes it through the “kid filter.” When my son was itty bitty (like, 2 years old or so,) he was in his car seat and out of no where he said, “Bye, bye, eyes…” We knew for CERTAIN he was going blind and almost wrecked the car in a panic. No, he was just falling asleep and his eyes were closing. AHH! Awesome site, by the way!

Oh, MY. You are brave for even attempting that party. Good luck.
