If you are wise you’ll listen to me
Last night, my sister and I went for our first spray tan and afterwards I have to say that I felt and looked like an Oompa Loompa! I could hear the words of the song playing in my head. What a laugh we had though! I was going to just go topless and wore my old bikini bottoms, but my sister persuaded me to go in the buff to avoid tan lines! Tan lines? Whatever!
So, in the space of the ten minutes or so it took to spray my pasty white body, I was asked to bend over, hold your breast up, lift that leg, turn around . . . you get the picture. It was a little familiar and alls I could hear was my sister laughing her head off in the background.
Just you wait till it’s your turn, I thought.
Anyway, to stop said giggles in the corner I made polite talk with the spray tanner who was also the owner of the salon. Amidst all this small talk, we realised that she knows our mum very well and that . . . my little sister . . . in her younger, single days and completely unbeknown to her . . . had an affair with this woman’s husband, who by now is spray tanning my sister. This woman’s hubby had not told my sister that he was married as they were going through a divorce at the time and as soon as she found out she told him where to go.
The look of sheer terror on my sister’s face as she realised who this woman was hysterical to tell you the truth! My sister doesn’t think she knows who she is, but still . . . the thought did come across my mind that what if she was going to botch up her tan as payback!
Anyway, this morning after showering, it looks much better — maybe a little darker than it should be for me, but hubby thinks I look gorgeous!

OMG I haven’t giggled so much in my life..lol and the sheer horror of realizing who she was half way through being sprayed in the buff was enough to make anyone wanna grab their clothes and flee, but I stood strong with my imperfections and definitely had a fun night.
I heard that the latest is wearing your smallest pieces of underwear/bikini precisely so you get a tan line and don’t look like you’ve been sprayed.
I can’t believe you guys stayed – I’d have turned and ran – sharpish!
I’ve been thinking of having the faux tan done, too… however, when I saw “spray tan” and “Oompa Loompa” in the same sentance, I got a little nervous.
But, since it worked out, maybe you’ve talked me into it!
