Where Your Weenie, Mummy?

So, the little man loves to take showers! And, like a moth to the fire he is drawn to that familiar sound of the pitter patter of water, demanding to get in with any family member who’s taking one!

I usually luck out and get to take one by myself as he has already showered with 4 other people, but the other morning I was forced to share my shower space with the three-foot toddler. I was minding my own business, washing my hair whilst he was playing with his bath toys, when all of a sudden, I hear him squeak, “Where your weenie, Mummy?”

A little taken back, I asked him to repeat himself and sure enough, “Where your weenie?” was the response.

I looked down at my little man who was staring back at me, blinking away droplets of water with the most perplexed look on his face! A hastened a giggle, took a deep breath and answered in my best mummy-knows-best voice.

“Erm, Mummy doesn’t have a weenie like you son.”

You know “they” say that you should explain things to children for as much as they will let you. Whomever, “they are,” I have found this all to be true and basically, when poised questions by my older children, I usually keep talking till they stop me with either another question or a whoa, that’s enough Mum.

So, he was still listening intently and I thought, okay let me continue because he evidently wants to hear more. “You see, Mummy is a girl and . . . “

Suddenly, he decided he must have heard enough and piped up, “No, you are NOT a girl — you a MUMMY!”

Charming, I’m sure!

I was hoping to have a pic of my 7th grader at his end-of-year school awards ceremony, but I sort of got just a little bit mixed up on the dates this morning! Yeah, showed up all bright and early only to find I was a day early! Anyway, here’s a photo of my littlest guy enjoying his music class! As you can see, he really gets in to it!

Memorial Weekend Round-Up . . . a Crash, Poker Face, a Bare Butt and a Crane

So, how was your Memorial Day weekend? Mine was pretty grand if I might say so myself! Even if it involved a crash, poker face, a bare butt and a crane. Let me explain!

My sister-in-law and I went to Target sans the children (yeah for me) and whilst browsing the endless aisles of bargains, we heard over the loud speaker for someone to come to the front if they had a grey Honda.

Ooh, that sounds familiar I thought to myself, who has a grey Honda?

Then it dawned on me — my sis-in-law has a grey Honda Fit which we had travelled to afore-mentioned shop in. Doh! She didn’t even tune in to the message, so I told her she better go make sure it wasn’t hers. But, alas it was. Some pensioner had put her foot on the accelerator thinking it was the brake and had crashed right in to the back of her perfectly parked grey Honda.

Yikes!

The whole right sided bumper was caved in, but luckily the boot still opens so we were able to get all our lovely bargains in the back! And, moreover nobody was hurt. The old dear was ticketed and then went about her day . . . disappearing in to Target!

We were able to make it to the movies in the nick of time to see Angels and Demons– have I mentioned before how much I think Dan Brown books rock? Evidently, he has a new one coming out soon and I can’t wait. Anyway, the movie was fab except for this one instance where a certain crunchie mummy forgot to turn off her ring tone. Have I mentioned I recently switched my tone to Lady Ga Ga’s Poker Face? 15 seconds of shame or what?

I shan’t reveal that said ring tone went off at a very poignant part of the movie, but to the lady who impatiently told me to turn it off I say, how very dare you? At least I wasn’t hacking up loogies through the whole movie like your husband. Ewwww! I hate that about the cinema, don’t you?

My littlest one has been continuing to streak and flash his bare butt! It all has to do with potty training, but I’ll reveal more of that another time!

Yesterday, we enjoyed some good eats and family time down at my mum’s house on the water. All my family were there except my oldest brother and his family, but we did have some other company. An uninvited crane decided to descend upon the party for a while . . . I think it was waiting for all those fish we DIDN’T catch!

For today’s Musical Monday, I picked a song called Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits. While we are all looking forward to a wonderful long Memorial Day weekend, it’s important to take the time to remember why we celebrate this day in the first place.

These mist covered mountains

The style trend of turning from blonde to brunette, that is! Back in the early part of 2009, I decided to dye my locks a darker shade just knowing that all the celebs would follow . . . it may have taken a while, but Kate Hudson is the first.

And, you’re very welcome Kate Hudson.

So, yesterday all I could hear coming from the loo from whence my oldest son had disappeared moments before was . . . very loud bursts of . . . laughter (what, were you expecting something else)!

I didn’t think anymore of it until I had to visit it some time later and saw this laid out in the magazine basket we have in there!
