On Friday night I went out on the town with an old school chum and my sis-in-law to what I considered a good old- fashioned 60′s soul night known locally here as the Beat Club.
Now, I don’t generally listen to this genre of music as a rule, but ended up having a great time spending most of my time on the dance floor. See for yourself … heh! My sis-in-law and I even got to ride the donkey. Ahem … enough of that.

Actually, by the end of the night I’d had enough of that 60′s beat and had to put on some Rhianna when I got home. Eeeek! *ducking from the wrath of all northern soulers I’ve offended*
Anyroad up, for this week’s Musical Monday, I’ve picked one of the songs that was playing … “Heaven Must Have Sent You” by the Elgins.
*sigh*
Enjoy.
I’ve cried through many endless nights
While holding my pillow tight
Then you came into my lonely days
With your tender lovin’ sweet waysNow I don’t know where you come from, baby
Don’t know where you’ve been, my baby
Heaven must have sent you, honey
Into my armsNow in the mornin’ when I awake
There’s a smile on my face
You’ve touched my heart with gladness
Wiped away all of my sadnessFor so long I’ve needed love right near me
A soft voice to cheer me
Heaven must have sent you, baby
Into my lifeHeaven in your arms
Boy, it’s the sweetness of your charms
Makes me love you more each day
In your arms I wanna stayWanna thank you for the joy you brought me
Thank you for the things you taught me
Thank you for holding me close
when I needed you the mostNow I don’t know much about you, baby
But I know I can’t live without you
Heaven must have sent you, honey
To love only meIt’s heaven in your arms
Boy, it’s the sweetness of your charms
Makes me love you more each day
In your arms I wanna stayWanna thank you for the joy you brought me
Thank you for the things you taught me
Thank you for holding me close
when I needed you the mostIt’s heaven in your arms
Boy, it’s the sweetness of your charms
Makes me love you more each day
In your arms I wanna stay

That’s a great song. You look like you had a blast at the 60s night, even if (like me) you’re too young to remember the songs *ahem*
It wouldn’t let me hear it…darn.
I wish we had something like that in my neighborhood. What a great idea. I remember this song! Cute song, and definitely one to rock too! See look at those pictures you’re in the “Spotlight Dance” already & didn’t even know it! LOL CONGRATS! Love the pics thanks for sharing & thanks for playing along. Hope to see you next week too!
congrats on being feature this week too! I couldn’t listen to the song because something about can’t play, must watch on youtube. Anyhow happy MMMM.
Nice pick and congrats on being picked for this week’s spotlight dancer!
Looks like you definitely had a fun night!
I love just about all genres except for country music although there are a few country tunes that I like. Apparently, there’s this relatively new genre (or new to me genre) called Alternative Country which artist like Ray LaMontagne and The Old 97s fit into. So I guess given that fact, I guess I do like country music.
Who would have thought?! lol
Anywho, I love Motown Music and all the sounds from that era. Sam Cooke is my favorite. I simply love the soulful sounds of the songs from that era.
You look skinny skinny!!!
Glad you had a blast. xx
Looks like you had SO much FUN!! Loved the pictures – and enjoyed the song!
MMMM: Eclectic Mix
D’OH! I forgot to say CONGRATS on your SpotLight Dance!
