Random thoughts on Spring break, Bristol and chocolate …

25 Feb

So, here’s a run down of  weekly drivel from yours truly … cos, like I know you’re all just sat on the edge of your seat with excitement to read what I’ve been up to …

==========

I still haz a cold that I can’t seem to shift and not much appetite to go along with it which has caused me to lose a bit of weight.  I think at this point I need to add a daily Crunchie to my diet. =P

==========

Speaking of chocolate, remember when I blogged about this?  Big mistake.  Big fucking mistake.  My post must have caused quite a buying frenzy because I can’t find that chocolate bar anywhere.  I’ve since moved on to chocolate covered cranberries so bite me Cadbury’s Bar of Plenty.  Actually, I’d like to bite you, but …

==========

It’s half-term holiday for my children here and for some reason I can’t help but call it Spring break.  Spring break.  Now, there’s a blast from the past.  For those of you not in the know, Spring break is a ritual week-long event when colleges break up for a week in the Spring (doh) and the students descend upon warmer climates such as Florida.  Remember when MTV’s Spring Break used to be cool?  Daytona, Clearwater, Panama City?  Oh ya … check out Vanilla Ice back in the day when I used to wear itty bitty little tops and denims … eek.

Anyway, the weather has definitely warmed here this week so maybe Spring is finally on the way … thankfully, it’s a more civilised Spring like temperature and not the sticky, hot, sweaty, bikini-clad Spring of Florida.

*sigh*

Hang about, that actually doesn’t sound too bad right about now.  Heh!

==========

We’ve actually not done a whole heck of a lot this week.  I had a job interview down in bee-you-tiful Bristol in the middle of the week which kind of put a halt to a trip to Edinburgh.  We’ve had lots of walks and fresh air though.

==========

Bristol is a lively city isn’t it?  Was quite interesting to sit and take in sights and sounds of the place — eavesdropping on some interesting conversations … none of which I can remember at this moment in time as it’s all a whirlwind really.  And, a looooong train journey which was luckily kept very enteraining on the journey back.

==========

My friends went on a trip to NYC this week to celebrate their mutual 40th birthday parties … a trip that I was supposed to go on, but unfortunately had to pull out of.  *sobs*  Sounds like they had a blast and I can’t wait to see the photos.   *said thru gritted teeth*

==========

Took the kids to Mickey D’s at the weekend … yeah, yeah, yeah … I know, ugh … but it only happens once in a while … and my oldest son made us all laugh when he ordered iced tea for his drink. Bless. He got the strangest look from the dopey young teen that was serving us.  I still refuse to eat there by the way after getting food poisoning from one in Florida a few years back.

That’s all folks.  And, you’re welcome.

    Our Spring Break isn’t until the end of March. Chances are there still will be snow on the ground.

    When you say iced tea, are tyou talking cold tea? Our is just powder, and I much prefer it!
